Launching CosmosWeather

CosmosWeather was launched to provide a clearer, more accessible view of live weather conditions across Cyprus.

The platform brings together live station telemetry, current conditions, and location-based visibility into a format that is easier to use for both daily awareness and operational observation.

What CosmosWeather is

CosmosWeather is the public-facing monitoring platform of the Cyprus Organization for Storm Monitoring and Observation Services (COSMOS).

It presents live weather station data with real-time updates across different parts of Cyprus, helping users move from isolated readings to a broader picture of local conditions.

Why we built it

We wanted weather monitoring to feel more immediate and more usable.

Too often, environmental data is available but difficult to explore, fragmented across tools, or presented without enough context to be useful in real time. CosmosWeather was built to make that information easier to access and easier to understand.

What matters about it

CosmosWeather represents a practical use of live data infrastructure:

  • real-time visibility instead of delayed reporting
  • station-based monitoring across Cyprus
  • a simpler interface for understanding current conditions

For us, it is also an example of how technical systems can become more valuable when they are not only accurate, but legible to the people using them.
