PyroGuard AI Deployment Announced in Paralimni-Deryneia

Paralimni-Deryneia Municipality has partnered with Kernel Consultants Ltd to deploy 15 PyroGuard AI stations across Paralimni, Deryneia, Frenaros, Vrysoulles, Kaparis, and Protaras.

PyroGuard AI was developed by Neuranet Solutions Ltd, with Kernel Consultants Ltd overseeing deployment, operations, and support under the agreement with the Municipality.

• Each station is designed to detect smoke and fire from distances of 15 kilometers or more
• Alerts are sent to dedicated AI infrastructure for analysis and then verified by a human operator
• Verified detections are escalated to the relevant emergency authorities for response

Deployment model

The agreement was announced as a no-cost installation and operations initiative for the Municipality, forming part of a broader R&D effort to improve the system in real operating conditions.

According to the press release, the initiative is also intended to support Cyprus as a proving ground for exportable AI-based wildfire detection systems.

Infrastructure and scale

The supporting communications layer is backed by Cosmos Wireless, using a hybrid mix of fiber, wireless, and satellite connectivity to maintain data transmission reliability across different terrain types.

The announcement also notes that PyroGuard AI already protects more than 50 areas in over 25 communities across Cyprus.
